Hi I'm Kathy, a British pencil artist. I like to draw unplanned and completely from imagination. 
Influenced by the renaissance and the old masters, I spent years studying portraits and figures, until I was able to draw them spontaneously out of my mind. I began seeing them everywhere, entwined in intricate worlds of their own, surrounded by an ether made of ribbons and natural forms like tree roots, branches, leaves, flowers, magnetic fields, fire, water, air, the natural elements...
I saw particular characters, engaged in a moral fight as a team together. I witnessed the constant growing, the pushing of life and nature, the spirit of existence.
It became my own private world, of nightmares and dreams, angels and demons, light in darkness, and it's also a skill I'm proud of honing. When I'm working I like to be alone, undisturbed, to feel the simultaneous solitude and uninterrupted bubbling writhing movement of nature that surrounds us all and of which everything is inseparably imbued.
It makes me happy that the figures and energy emanating from my drawings engage others too ❤️🔥
